Karla’s client (2 cats that she visits 3 times a day and a small dog that we’ve been boarding) is returning from 2 months in London this afternoon. She will be spending 4 days at home quarantine, then going to her boyfriend’s house in Maryland for 2 weeks (he’s in London, too, but staying a few more days for work.

So she would like the dog brought back over for a few days, then wants to board him again while she is in MD...

I don’t feel too badly about Karla going back to take care of the cats after...Gloves and caution for 3-4 days should do the trick, but the dog has me a little concerned. There have been human to dog cases and no known dog to human cases. OTOH, there wouldn’t be since the dogs would be with the humans that gave it to them to begin with...

+1. A lot of people are taking risks right now because after the lockdown, they haven't seen any evidence that the pandemic is affecting anyone. It's not real to them, it's happening to other people.

But that's only because so many people are taking extraordinary measures.

I think that’s right. The human dog transmission appears to be a zebra event and while I’m not worried about it I think having a newborn means reconsidering all risks even the low odds ones.
