All of this talk about cutting the voting hours down and the early voting hours... They expanded the early voting hours and Election Day polls stayed the same.
There’s only four complaints that are accurate and are still ridiculous to complain about.
-
Yes, they cut down the number of ballot boxes and did away with 24 hour drop off. If somebody is dropping off ballots after midnight, then something is very wrong. As for the drop off boxes, eight is more than they had in Dekalb in 2019...
-
The removal of the Secretary of State as head of the Election Board. That’s legitimate! The executive branch is not supposed to oversee elections and that’s always been in the power of the legislature.
-
They can now remove county election officials if they are caught in malfeasance and illegal voting practices THREE TIMES. Are people really bitching that they shouldn’t remove an election official that’s been busted three times? Really?
-
Voter ID. As noted, I need ID to drive, to fly, to cash a check, to write a check, to open a bank account, and to legally work. Come on man...
-
-
I have never seen a worse example of “if you repeat a lie often enough...

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) sent a letter to Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred asking him if he’ll relinquish his personal membership at Georgia’s Augusta National Golf Club, after Manfred announced the MLB would move its All Star Game and Amateur Draft out of the state because of its revised election laws.

Make Georgia like Delaware:
Yet on Monday, Georgia State Rep. Wes Cantrell called Biden’s bluff. Not only has Biden been lying through his teeth about the Georgia bill, but if Georgia’s voting laws are “Jim Crow on steroids,” the voting laws in Biden’s home state of Delaware are a slave-holding plantation.
“Last week, our president decided to go on national news and basically disparage our state,” Cantrell began. “We have a new election integrity law here that we passed a couple of weeks ago, and our president, apparently without reading the bill, went on the news and called our new law, he called it ‘un-American,’ he called it ‘sick,’ he called it ‘pernicious,’ he then went on and called it ‘Jim Crow on steroids.'”
“So, in light of President Biden’s concerns about our law here in Georgia, I have decided that I am going to introduce new legislation,” Cantrell continued. “The name of this new bill is going to be ‘The President Joe Biden Jim Crow on steroids Voter Act.’ … This new bill will change our voting laws so that they mirror the president’s home state of Delaware.”
“This law will have five key features to make us like Delaware,” the state representative began. “Instead of having up to 19 days of early voting like we have here in Georgia, we’re going to have exactly zero early voting days, because that’s how they do it in Delaware.”
“Instead of having secure drop-boxes where you can place your absentee ballot in one of those drop-boxes for security’s sake, we’re going to provide you with exactly zero drop-boxes, because that’s how they do it in Delaware,” he said.
“And instead of being able to get food or drink from anyone outside of the 150-foot buffer zone while you’re voting, or being able to be provided water inside the 150-foot buffer area, we’re going to make it illegal for you to receive anything of value at any point while you’re standing in line to vote, because that’s how they do it in Delaware,” Cantrell added.
Finally, the state representative addressed what he claimed would be “the worst feature of all.” “Instead of being able to vote in relative quiet like we do here in Georgia, we’re going to make it so that when you walk up to vote they’re going to announce your name, out loud, so that anyone in the precinct can object to your right to vote. And worse yet, during a primary, they’re not just going to announce your name, they’re going to announce your party affiliation, as well. Why? Because that’s how they do it in Delaware,” he said...
“So I look forward to all of my colleagues who voted against our election integrity bill, I look forward to them clamoring to co-sponsor this legislation with me so that we can be just like President Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware, where the voting laws are draconian,” he said.

Time to kill baseball's exemption...
No, but I am all for an elevated tax on all visiting teams to the new ballpark.

No, but I am all for an elevated tax on all visiting teams to the new ballpark.
Part of the reason the state, county, and city funded the construction of that ballpark was the promise that they would host an All-Star Game.

Rubio to MLB commissioner Manfred: Drop your Augusta golf membership, too
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio on Monday challenged Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred to put his money where his mouth is over his decision to yank the sport’s All-Star Game from Georgia over a controversial new voting law by making a personal sacrifice — his membership at the Peach State’s fabled Augusta National Golf Club.
Rubio, a Republican, teed off on Manfred in an open letter addressed to the commissioner at his Midtown Manhattan office.
“I write to ask you whether you intend to maintain your membership at Augusta National Golf Club. As you are well aware, the exclusive members-only club is located in the State of Georgia,” the letter began.
Manfred last week decided to yank the 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta to protest new voting provisions in Georgia, which critics say are restrictive to Democracy and President Biden has characterized as modern-day Jim Crow.
