“At least 20 mass shootings have taken place in the two weeks since the metro Atlanta spa attacks left 8 dead”
We know we have got a lot of mass shootings in this country. Still, seeing them enumerated is somehow more harrowing.

Is there anything cnn loves more than MASS SHOOTING?
If only there were laws against this sort of thing!
Some of the people in those pictures look like police.
I thought we defunded them.

Chicago appears to be over-represented on that list. I wonder why the media doesn't report on those incidents individually?

And if you read behind the lines of the majority those incidents you will find that in fact black lives do not matter, at least not to the gangster thugs that did most of the shooting.

I don’t read CNN anymore for this very reason. The logic is so convoluted it only makes sense to someone who is so willing to look at gun violence that they forgot that last week mass shootings were all about white supremacy and also gloss completely over who is killing who— but even more convoluted that people of color kill each other because of white supremacy.
Someone is tripping on sniffing glue.

Please tell me what the FBI considers a mass shooting?

The FBI follows the Investigative Assistance for Violent Crimes Act of 2012 definition for active shooter incidents and mass killings, defined by the law as three or more people killed in public places. See https://www.congress.gov/112/plaws/publ265/PLAW-112publ265.pdf
Mass “shooting,” however, is not defined by law and I am not aware of the FBI offers a definition of its own. The private non-profit research group the Gun Violence Archive draws the line at four - if four or more people are shot in one incident (not necessary killed), it’s “mass shooting.” CNN seems to go with that definition.
From “three killed by gunshots” defined by law for active shooter “mass killing” to “four shot by gun” for “mass shooting,” I think that definition is reasonable enough.

In other words, just about any weekend in Chicago, we have a mass shooting.

Does that make gun violence any less of a problem?

I guess the good news is that the Chinese have to go through Chicago to get to DC.

It does when most of the Chicago shootings are done with illegal weapons.
BTW, did you know more people in the U.S. were killed with knives last year, than with rifles? It's obvious this country needs knife control!

I believe that's already happening in the UK.

True. Subjects, not citizens.

This is a galactic troll article. Don’t get sucked into it. CNN is hurting badly for revenue and is making nonsensical racially charged content.

98 perps. 67 black. I suspect it would be instructive to know how many shootings were done with legally owned firearms.

Add handguns to the mix, however, and that's not true.

I see maybe 3 females in those pictures, just my guess.
I guess females are not as easily caught.
