Savoie's Instant Roux
DaFuq? I'd never heard of this!
It's a shortcut. Tony Chachere's also makes a powdered roux. Several companies make a jarred roux.

I didn't like the taste of mushrooms when I was a child.
But since then, I've come to like mushrooms.
I don't like them as much as carrots, corn, and asparagus. But still, I like mushrooms.

Nice local chuck roast, in the Instant Pot with wine, cream of mushroom soup, Lipton Onion Mushroom Soup mix, a little water and half a pound of mushrooms. Will be served over mashed potatoes with big roasted carrots.
But this time with Golden Mushroom soup, some thyme and rosemary. I'm going to cook the roast first then add carrots and potatoes for a 6 minute pressure cook. Hope to keep them from getting mushy.

I think mushrooms are the one foodstuff I don't like. I was violently ill as a child after eating mushroom soup, and I've never gone back to them. The smell still makes my stomach turn.
Still, all the more for everybody else!

Ouzo is the other thing, after a holiday on Corfu about 35 years ago.
My boss is Greek, and we had a big company meal a couple of years ago, and he ordered ouzo for everybody. I very nearly lost it.

For me it's oatmeal. GAG.
Oatmeal is good but you gotta put nuts and fruit in it.Every morning I have a bowl of steel rolled oats, a few blueberries, and walnuts. No milk, no brown sugar.
My parents made me a cheese sandwich with mayo to take to school once. I couldn’t stomach the smell of mayo for years afterwards.

About a cup of mirepoix, 4 cloves of garlic, 12 oz water, 1 can of Golden Mushroom (much better), 1 package Lipton Onion Mushroom Soup mix, some thyme and some rosemary. 2.8 lb boneless chuck.
It comes out really a bit more of a beef stew, but that's OK. I love beef stew. MFR used to get tons of it free when she sold for Con-Agra. It was a bi-pack like LaChoy stuff, with the meat and gravy in one pack and the potatoes and other vegetables in a separate can. The stuff was really a great fast dinner.
