Mrs. George felt like Chinese tonight, so we thought we'd order from a place that got good reviews, using Doordash.
- Two egg rolls
- Beef Chop Suey (for the Mrs.)
- Mongolian Beef - I like it spicy.
The egg rolls were nothing special, but they weren't bad. The Mongolian beef was really good - I ate too much.
But...there was only 1 small side of rice. We should have gotten two (one for each meal).
I contacted Doordash customer support and explained what happened. The customer service rep was very pleasant and gave me a $14.94 credit for the missing rice!
I wasn't expecting that, perhaps $3-$4. But almost $15?
Wow.

I too Doordashed tonight. I have called them several times for credits. I think they see it as the entree was not right so you get it refunded.

I wonder if they pass that on to the restaurant.

Depends on the deal the restaurant has with the delivery vendor. Some charge more to make up for the overhead Doordash or Grubhub charges which is substantial.

I've read that it could be as much as 30%.
But, same restaurant, same order...different prices.
Do you think that's a function of negotiation?
I didn't look at the "fees and other charges" for the two services. Perhaps that evens it out.

The restaurant probably paid for the refund.
