Third Wave Here?

You can't deny that infection rates are on the rise some places, enough to be worrisome. As much as I want everything to open back up, vaccination rates are not there yet.
How much extra tax are you willing to pay to keep things closed? You will be funding this.

he had a reputation of being something of a disagreeable wanker
Funny you should mention. Years ago, I listened to Greenberg's biography of Ludwig. He (Beethoven, not Greenberg) was such a horrible, horrible person. The account of his dealing with his sister-in-law and the custody of his nephew made me really, really dislike the man. Granted, it was an emotional response, but it was a long time before I could enjoy his music without thinking of what an asshole he was.

I'd still rather listen to him than Tucker Carlson.

Seth Myers said of Tucker Carlson that watching his facial expressions was like watching Templeton the rat trying to read Charlotte's Web.

I find Seth Myers as funny as a bout of gastritis. As illuminating, too.

In the interest of balance, I don't like Seth Myers, either.
But Tucker's facial expressions are pretty odd. Particularly for the smartest conservative commentator since William F. Buckley Jr.

I try to watch the first part of his show. I figure that's the cool stuff that can get him in trouble with the SJW's.
Facial expressions? I find him rather expressionless.
Now, don't shoot the messenger. -

I don't see how Carlson's tone helps to dampen the country's growing animosity toward one another. I do see how it could be pretty effective in keeping conservatives pissed off.
I don't need any of that shit in my life so I don't listen.

I'm not particularly interesting in litigating his tone, but I think he often makes some very good points you won't find made in most other broadcast outlets.

Fair enough; I think that's true, at least some of the time.

He does have that scratchy Walter Brennen voice, I'll give you that.
Walter Brennen, the Real McCoys. A bit before my time but that's when TV was TV!. -

Just for the record, I'm not saying he never makes good points. My real problem with those shows is the whole concept of listening to what essentially amounts to rants. I get enough of that at home.
Also, I tend to find myself saying 'wanker' a lot. I feel exactly the same way about Bill Maher, possibly more so.

Yep, I get the same vibe. The whole tone is "get a load of how chilling/terrible/vindictive/whatever this is" with plenty of icy sarcasm thrown in. It's why I don't watch. I'm negative enough on my own, thanks.

My current haven't-lost-my-shit average is up to about .250 or so. I know enough to realize I'll never go pro.
