Remind me how far from home it is?

@jon-nyc 3 hours on a good day for 95, and 5 hours on a bad day. I really do plan on taking 17 down. It’s a 4 hour trip, but a nicer drive.

Congrats!! Beautiful campus too, and fun part of the state if you want to stay nearby for some beach action. Yeah I'm a huge advocate of adding on a little bit of time to the trip if it's a better drive. 17 all the way...

I kept threatening to take 17 all the way, but never did it.

        We did take some alternates.

In addition to I-95, you will learn to hate I-64. When my daughter moved to Smithfield, we found route 10. It roughly parallels I-64 but on the other side of the James River. It is farm country all the way, almost no people.

I know Waze says to take the toll road, but we usually went down the Fairfax parkway to I-95. And when I got tired of that I took I-66 out to Manassas then 234 to I-95. That lets you avoid the toll road traffic and also spend less time on I-95.

Eventually you hate them all and just pick one based on your mood for the day.

There was one time that Fredericksburg was so bad I took route 3 out to Culpeper. That was the long way home, but I had to get off 95.

        We'll get together some time.

@lufins-dad that’s a good distance. Easy enough to get him for long weekends but not so close he brings his laundry home to you.

Congratulations! I hope he is happy there. Was there anything specific that made him decide on CNU?

I was surprised and pleased to find out The Princeton Review has CNU ranked #12 in the nation for most engaged in service, #16 for quality of student life, and #18 for best run colleges.

Agreed. Three hours was my undergrad-to-home distance, and it´s my distance to home now, too. Just perfect.

                        Congrats to Luke!
