Re the above, it seems to me if approval isn’t imminent they should send them to Canada with the idea that Canada will redirect equivalent numbers back here once we do approve.

Didn’t Germany ban it for those over 65? Was that related?

I think that was because the funky errors in their trial. It was better with the half dose, but they had only tested the (erroneous) half dose on a younger cohort.

        But I’m not sure.

          From the article:

"It shows that the monitoring system works."

It also shows the spin machine works, probably even better than the monitoring system.
Maybe they are both the same.

Yes, but that was for silly reasons. The reason what that the trials didn't involve older people so the default assumption was that it wouldn't work on older people. It was widely interpreted in the mainstream press as "studies show it doesn't work on older folks", hence many people actively refuse that particular vaccine.

@Loki Considering the fact that there are no cases known with Moderna and Pfizer, I find the AZ claim to be rather weak sauce...

Gotta wait and see. Some regulators are very quick to halt and investigate. My gut feel is it’ll turn out to be safe. As safe as other vaccines usually are.

Wife had the AZ on Saturday and she's still alive. A biochemist and a bit of an anti-vaxxer, the AZ was the one she wanted.
                        Get mine later this week.

If Mr. Trump said that he loved AZ, Mr. Biden would ban it in a heartbeat.

I think there is a better than even chance that before the week is out these countries will re-authorize the vaccine. I wouldn’t bet on but it’s a hunch.
