Mass vaccine sites

MFR got her first Pfizer today at University. It’s a drive thru set up in a parking garage. I have to say it was a well oiled machine. They had infrared heaters at all the stations you needed to stop at, power, computers and either cabling or WiFi.
I think we have the processes pretty down pat. I got mine at a different health system that did it inside, but also very efficient.

I don’t understand why the J&J doesn’t just go through your PCP? Storage and special equipment are not an issue...

There is no grid. It’s like recharging stations for e-cars. The supply chain is simply not set up and that takes years.

Sure there is. Johnson & Johnson is shipping to PCP’s every single week. There are no special steps for shipping these vaccines.
