    WOW! That is awesome. However, had you swung harder it might not have been on such an optimum trajectory. Such is the bane of golfers.

    I've had them get that close a couple of times. I have never had a hole-in-one, although I witnessed a friend get one last year.

      Fake news. Copper said there are devices to keep the balls out of the holes on his course, but there isn't one in that pic.

      Education is extremely important.

        @Horace

        Yes - that piece of PVC pipe in the hole prevents the ball from dropping all the way in

            To be fair, maybe I should point out that since August I have played 160 rounds.

            That is 640 par 3 holes.

            After 640 tries this is the only one that came this close.

            Picture 640 balls siting around the green. It seems like it takes remarkably poor skill luck to not have a few go in.

              No joke!! One time I ran an analysis off the odds of me making a hole in one before I die, based on how much I play. I think it was around 20%

                Copper, don't you mean the ball hit the PVC and bounced back out (wink! wink!)?

                  @LuFins-Dad That is actually possible the sprinklers were on between us and the hole, blocking the view. We didn't know how close it was until we got to the green. We'll never know.

                    I’ve always said if I ever get a hole in one, all I ask is it not be to a hidden pin!

                      Just one more biscuit for breakfast, as the late great Harry Caray would have said.

                          Thanks, TG. Believe it or not, I never hit another golf shot any worse than that one all day.

                            Oops - my great shot was for Copper. I seem to be doing that lately!!!

                            Sorry, but I am sure you are just as good at the golfing!

                              There is little doubt that I am better at golf than Copper.
