Problem with the muscle cars is the have shit visibility.

Get the Mustang, at least it comes in a convertible. Then you can see.

Zowie, that's beautiful. I'm glad you went for the black -- much snazzier than the brown.

Does the US allow rear-facing seats?

They sell something they call the "Metris", but its a quite different car.

          How so?

          Metris.

          V class.

          I rest my case.

Also, I believe a Metris is a ~ $40K car. The V class with a few standard options selected is around twice that amount.

I'll probably pull the trigger on Monday.

The Hyundai Santa Fe we have is getting too small for extended family trips.

We've decided to get a Mercedes V Class Van.

This is what they look like (ours will have black leather, though, not brown). There's no denying that it's still a van, but for a van they made it look decent.

I think you can't buy these in the US, by the way. They sell something they call the "Metris", but its a quite different car.

@klaus Beautiful! I think you will enjoy it.

In regard to the rear facing seats - I assume they will flip the other way like in a train so they can face forward if you want?

              Bought it today.

@taiwan_girl the seats can be flipped in either direction. Everything is mounted on rails. It's also very simple (but requires some heavy lifting) to remove seats. We'll probably remove one seat most of the time, such that we have more space for stuff.

Klaus, I forgot to mention that I had a nice chat with your in-laws and told them about your extended family trips. Your mother-in-law and I really hit it off. She's liking the recipes I gave her for treats to bake as travel snacks to eat in your new car.

She and your father-in-law are really excited to travel together with you. Maybe you should see about a luggage rack for the roof of your new vehicle.

Yes. It's from "National Lampoon's Vacation," a movie from the late 1980s when Chevy Chase was still funny.
