yeah. about two years ago he just waked into my house without knocking or anything. I quickly showed him the door and told him to never come back.

Jeez. Yeah he sounds off his rocker for sure. I half expected you to fire a gun (warning shot) at some point in that story btw.

Don't think for a second that the .45 wasn't available.

That is messed up. There are mental health issues for sure that were just very inappropriate but now it’s very unsafe.

That's wild, Mark. Glad you got a heads up from your other friend. Yes, must be some mental health issues, which is a sad situation, but it's even more disturbing that he's perhaps spreading the virus.
I hope he gets the help he needs. The next person might do far more than just yell at him.

Something else that is going to change in the new world we live in, especially if the homeless population torches off a major infection in one of the big cities...

Curious - had you shot him would Wisconsin consider that self defense? Seems quite clear to me, but not sure what the law would say.

Laws vary from state to state. In Louisiana, Castle Doctrine states it would be a justified shooting, if he was repeatedly warned and continued to advance.
In other states, you must retreat ( go back in the house) and only engage the threat of he tries to break in and your family is in imminent danger.

I would have done the latter and if he entered my house, he would not be part of the human family today.

Nightmarish, Mark. I've been worried about something like that happening. An irrational fear on my part--like a UPS worker or someone else who's just been living on some other planet for the past month or so. I'm very glad for you that things didn't get worse.
