OK, which iPhone?

I decided to go a bit bigger and get the 12. It arrives tomorrow and we will see. But they finally got me to spring for the 50GB iCloud, dammit.

A buck. One.
You left out cheap. Cheap piker. I am loathe to sign up for monthly bills.

You exaggerated. It’s only 99¢ per month.

My new, blue iPhone 12 just arrived. I decided to try the larger size because I'm not lugging it around for work and it has better battery life than the mini. With the travel we plan to do that could be important.
The 12 Pro has some interesting features but none that I felt were worth a couple hundred extra bucks.

Grats, hope it works out well! (I'm still on an X with a cracked screen when I ate it on some pavement last summer. I love the crap out of technology but I just don't care about phones for some reason.)
Was transitioning easy?

The switchover was totally simple. It does seem to run a bit hot though. I suppose a case will hide that.

OK, more questions.
Is the wireless charging worth it? I understand some of them really don't charge as fast as the Apple official one.
Any recommendations on the 20W bricks?

The 20w brick charger gets it from 0 to past half in half an hour.
Even 10 mins of charging will get you a huge chunk of your battery back.
I don’t use the latest and greatest wireless charger from Apple.
I have a regular old QI charger on my desk that slowly and steadily gets the charge up. (Probably at a similar rate to the regular square bricks).

I have one of those MagSafe 2 charging thing for iPhone, but I rarely use it. It's a backup charging method for me, if I ever need to keep the ear buds connected through the Lightning port and wirelessly charge the phone at the same time. Normally I just charge with a Lightning cable (more efficient, don't get 'hot' like the wireless MagSafe device).
I haven't bother to buy any new power brick just for the new iPhone. Whatever USB charging gadgets I already have are working just fine.
The only complain I have is actually with the USB port in my car. The USB port that connects to the car's CarPlay system is rather low-powered (probably still stuck at 5W). When the iPhone is actively using the GPS navigation function (which is my primary application for CarPlay), the 5W power supply from that USB port can barely keep up. But that's on the car skimping on the USB port. It really wouldn't have cost them that much to put in a 10W USB port.

I just went accessory shopping. $100 for a new cord, 2 bricks, a magsafe charger just to try it, and a case.
I really don't see why I want wireless charging, since the charger is wired anyway, but I guess I will give it a whirl and see.

That's your whole experience with your transitioning? "It" runs a bit hot? I thought it normally also involve hormones, surgery, etc. I am happy for you that it went so smoothly.

The holograms are my favorite part. 7G causes cancer though, sorry about that.
