I think I was told, maybe even here!, that if a president is going to be judged with the stock market returns, it should start, on election day in early November.
And in this case, President Biden has had the highest stock market return EVER from election day to inauguration day.
But we all know that the president does not have that big in effect!

I don’t know if a crash is starting but I do know the dire straits many cities are in and states is going to come out now. The line was held through the election.

You look at the likes of GameStop and AMC (the movie theater chain) and you get the sense that something screwy is going on with the market. :man-shrugging:

The comrades at reddit think they are striking at the evil empire with those stocks and have no clue what they are doing to Biden. Spooking the markets I wouldn’t think is part of his 100 day plan.

The right for move Biden would be to ignore that stock market indices' day to day gyrations, and I think he will do that.

"... more than 100% of GameStop shares had been shorted prior to the epic short squeeze ..."

The market is up 13% since Biden was elected, including today’s close.

Wait, what? GameStop rose how much? That’s frigging ridiculous. Next you’ll tell me to buy Blockbuster. It’s a dead end retailer. It may be able to survive in some format but not what it was or even is right now. AMC? I won’t even buy AMC movie passes at $3 a ticket right now because I’m not sure they will still be around this summer...

Interesting article. I guess Barron's magazine is generally on the right side. So, they look back at how they looked at various presidents and if the Democrat was elected, that probably meant that the economy would sink. OOPS - not really.
If a Republic was elected, the economy would soar. OOPS - not any more than a Democrat president. LOL
