What are the general thoughts on executive orders from the people here on this forum board? I really don’t know anything about them, so don’t have much of an opinion.
But they seem to of been use quite a bit more in modern times than previously, but I am not even sure of that.

Lazy and unhealthy.

President Joe Biden has issued more executive orders in his first week in office — not yet complete, as of this writing — than any of his 45 predecessors.
Being the first president to succeed Donald Trump, he had a lot of work to do.
And is there a point to this article? Is there some significance to his issuing more EOs in the first week?
If he issues fewer EOs in week two, will breitbart make a BFD about that also?

It's a time-honored custom to not like President's executive orders. Fox News went apoplectic over Obama's use of executive orders - and yet President Obama issued fewer executive orders than any President since Grover Cleveland.
Similarly, Democrats and media were horrified at the Dark Lord's use of executive orders for the past 4 years.
I don't think anyone really likes the concept of executive fiat - but congress hasn't functioned all that well in a while.

"An executive order is a signed, written, and published directive from the President of the United States that manages operations of the federal government. ... Executive orders are not legislation; they require no approval from Congress, and Congress cannot simply overturn them." -- American Bar Association

I didn't pay attention to EO's during the Bush days.
During Obama days they were seen as undemocratic.
Trump used them just as much, and one-upped Obama by perfecting the "everything is an emergency" executive order.
They're flimsy though - and fake policy. I think Obama specifically told Trump that one of his failings was using too many EOs.

It seems to me that being either a future president or former president is a much easier job than being a president.

Interesting Cats. Thanks!! It appears that they were almost never used until early 1900's, and then used alot and has gone back down a bit.

That’s nice. Shall we talk about DACA?
Nobody wants to touch that one...
Why didn’t the Trump admin issue an order dismantling DACA?

He tried to have the original order by Obama called unconstitutional because he administration didn't want to take the flak.
There was absolutely nothing stopping the administration from issuing a new order dismantling DACA.
