...which is ironic since they were essentially destroying America’s most basic tenet of a peaceful transfer of power.

Us Canadians stuck around with the old Monarch parents for a couple of more centuries.
Then around 1980, we said we'll move out on our own for good. Their name is still on the deed to our land though.
