I still pay my cleaning lady 140/wk. and she hasn’t come since early March. I even gave her her usual Xmas bonus of an extra 140.

Same question as I asked @Mik, what payment method do you use to pay for this sort of "in person" service when you do not actually get to meet this service provide in-person anymore?

I send her checks every month. I asked about Venmo but she didn’t have it.

I use Venmo weekly for my boy’s Spanish lesson. We just went remote with those.

On the other side of the question I asked @Mik and @jon-nyc, I also wonder how that income get classified by the recipients.

Getting paid for no service rendered pretty much means these are not "earned income." These are also not investment income. Not "royalty". Not winnings from gambling. Maybe they count as "gifts," so the recipients are not subjected to any tax on them. Anyone think the IRS will have a problem with the recipients classifying these as "gifts" and not pay tax on any of it?

Not if they don't know about it. I don't think the IRS is going to be spending a lot of time on these things.

Thanks, man. I've seen you and @89th and @jon-nyc all recently mentioning that you use Venmo. So I'll go read up on Venmo a bit and brush up on what mobile app based payment systems are like these days.

Now Trump can focus like a laser on his top priority, inciting a white nationalist riot in Washington on January 6.

What about all the black and Latino folks who support him...... are they "white nationalists" too?

For sure the white nationalist thing is overwrought. I should probably have edited it. But yeah, that’s now his focus. 1/6 and pardoning his swamp creature family and friends.

I'm so old that I remember when the Speaker of the House said $1000 was "crumbs."

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Do we even need to? The Meuller report as is would support an obstruction indictment of Trump on 1/21, if the DOJ so chooses. Biden is not thinking that way however.

But what does that have to do with Manafort? Most of his crimes predated the campaign.

@jon-nyc said in Lump sum stimulus:

I’ll remind you he was already under investigation when Trump descended the infamous escalator in 2015.

Soon enough the Russia Investigation won’t even be a thing I suppose. I always thought for Mueller if only/they could get Manafort to crack the floodgates would have opened. But oh no according to you his other crimes were the thing.
