For me the push to keep them open is based on Emily Oster’s data.

But I read somewhere that data-based analysis is racist so there you go.

This is getting to the point of cartoonish.

One of the interesting things is in many areas the public schools closed but the private schools didn’t.

Also worth pointing out that low-SES kids are going to be much harder hit by missing school. And their parents can least afford ad hoc daycare.

They need to write an essay to back up that claim with proper arguments based on properly cited supported evidence.

That tweet, by the way, was deleted shortly after it appeared. But, the internet is forever.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

We have a bunch of elementary school-age kids that live on our cul-de-sac. They are always outside playing, as if it were summer vacation.

I go out every once in a while and yell at them, "hey, damn you kids, go home and do some calculus."

Seriously, their parent(s) let them run wild pretty much all the time, they just don't bother with the distance learning stuff.

Here is what they were really saying.

                    https://www.chicagotribune.com/coronavirus/ct-covid-19-chicago-public-schools-reopening-ctu-20201204-tigmwktrwzf27puzvwjavslchm-story.html

The tweet was clearly a ralllying cry and cage rattling. Familiar turf using the most current incendiary words.

Getting? LOL, 12 years ago was cartoonish. We're now at the point that it's been repeated so much that it has become true...
