One of the interesting things is in many areas the public schools closed but the private schools didn’t.
Also worth pointing out that low-SES kids are going to be much harder hit by missing school. And their parents can least afford ad hoc daycare.

We have a bunch of elementary school-age kids that live on our cul-de-sac. They are always outside playing, as if it were summer vacation.
I go out every once in a while and yell at them, "hey, damn you kids, go home and do some calculus."
Seriously, their parent(s) let them run wild pretty much all the time, they just don't bother with the distance learning stuff.
