@George-K BTW, you used to live pretty close to a local member of the "family" - did you know Burt? I became friends with Burt. It was fun to go to a restaurant with him and his mistress. We'd be seated immediately - food came immediately - and never a bill.

It's funny how unassuming the house is. Not very Don Corleone at all.
I occasionally cycle past the house of Francis "Cadillac Frank" Salemme, who lived in the next town over, and it's even less prepossessing.

My neighbor in Riverside broke the Sam Giancana story for the Tribune. He was friends with the police chief who gave him the whole story - and didn't share with anyone else. Weldon and his wife Bobbie were great neighbors. In her mid 90s, she could recite poetry and had the spirit of a teenager.
