Nope. These kids haven't even seen their school in over a month. This is a parental and legal issue. And it shouldn't be a legal issue.

CHS Principal David Brooks said not being at school does not alleviate the students’ responsibility to uphold a high standard of behavior.
I think this might be OK if the school had a rule specifically prohibiting this outside of school.
Did they break a law? I'd be surprised if it is illegal to not "uphold a high standard of behavior".
I assume it is legal for someone to say something like this. It might be stupid, or unkind but not illegal.

My first thought was also “why is this a school issue?” Well I guess after I thought, “holy shit these kids are horrible”
