Yeah I've read about it and seen it.

Seems like the kind of thing the public shouldn't indulge.

Seems an odd technicality in terms of a faith. Like fooling God.

Yeah no kidding. Absolutely ludicrous to think this doesn’t break the spirit (or even letter) of the law.

Interesting. Never have hear of that before.

(But it seems like kind of a "fake" solution. How does putting up a wire make a public place private?)

You mean your home isn’t outlined in a translucent quarter inch wire?

I thought exactly the same thing.

I used to work at a place that was bought by a religious-based (7th Day Adventist) cult faith. After the purchase, all "stimulants" disappeared from the cafeteria: coffee, tea, coke, etc.

Also, all pork-based foods went away as well. So, no bacon, pork chops, etc.

But...they did offer "turkey-bacon." And it wasn't for health reasons, it was to avoid pork. So, I wondered, "What's the sin here, actually eating pork, or desiring it because it tastes so damn good? If you're making things taste like bacon, aren't you, in a broad sense, making bacon?" I suppose a strict Jew would say, "It doesn't matter what it tastes like, it's not ACTUAL pork, so there's not a sin there."

                      I dunno...

"Now look here, you Baltic gas passer... " - Mik, 6/14/08

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

The alternative is to be like the Amish and not function in society. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

Seems like most of us have thought of other alternative.
