Trump's messaging, if you'll excuse the dreadful term, has been inconsistent and misleading. This is the real problem, IMHO. He has lacked directness, some might say honesty, at a time when directness is needed. He has not appeared to be in control, and it's not done him any good at all.

Wouldn't it be ducky if Bloomie spent a fortune in Florida and it bought him nothing?

But it’s a remarkable confession in context. Especially this close to the election.

But, both of those statement are true.

"We're not going to control the pandemic. We are going to control the fact that we get vaccines, therapeutics and other mitigations," Meadows said, adding: "It is a contagious virus, just like the flu."

There's nothing untrue in that statement.

COVID can be a very bad disease. For some people. The question becomes, do we let the "cure" be worse than the disease?

Trump has decided, as have most of the American people, that until we have a vaccine, we are going to have to live with this virus, just as we live with influenza. The economy cannot run forever on borrowed money and many citizens are starting to hurt very bad financially.

Lockdown Joe has a different opinion, but I'm told he has a very nice basement...

Even the hammer and the dance acknowledged there was no control.

I think everyone said the only goal was to try and not overwhelm our healthcare system.

Now if Biden thinks he can stop it, that would be fun to watch. Oh wait there will be a vaccine by then.

You guys seem to talk like it is either 100% lockdown or 0%.

There is ways to do things in between. Look at many Asia countries.

                100% (or close) mask wearing
                detailed contact tracing
quarantine for those positive or close contact

yes, yes, yes, I know that US values "personal choice", but it seems like many people are "looking at the tree, rather than the forest"

There is so much sage wisdom in Asia. And we look down on their people and cultures. Yes, it's not black and white, shutdown everything or open up everything. There are proven mitigations that can knock down the spread while still allowing social contacts. Problem is, Americans, too many of them at least, are going to do what they want. So even with full shutdowns of economy and congregation, it won't do much good when so many say screw you and get together like always. Meadows is right. We can't beat it. It's our new puppy to play with and grow old with.

Maybe YOU look down on Asian cultures, after all, you are a Leftwing nutjob. But the majority of Americans don't look down on Asians or their culture at all.
