I know John Kennedy. Not friendly know, but sit in the room (I wasn't near enough important to sit at the table) while business is going on, know. Kennedy has a big ego and he thinks he's one of the smartest people in the room.

    He is.

Guy graduated Vandy with honors, UV law school and also has attended Oxford, where I think he got another degree. He is sharp as a tack, especially with numbers.

The accent and mannerisms are Deep South. The mind is first class.

Quite a few Joe's out there saying dumb things.

Side note - while I do suspect the phased reopenings will start soon (in May?), this "we need to reopen now!" growing whisper will soon be a roar.

After which, things will be "fine" for about 10 days. And then, well, if the ERs and urgent care clinics think they're busy now, just you wait. But hey, that'll all be fine because we can all get Starbucks again and that's what's really important.

I'm not sure how to wake the economy up. I'm not sure anybody is.

Right now, our governor said that if we don't start bringing back some things in May, half of all Louisiana small businesses will fail.

It's in planning. I think there's a way to do it, but it isn't just to throw the barn doors open.

A huge part of it is going to be public perception. In other words, if you open before a safe plan is fully implemented and people freak out from overwhelmed hospitals and loved ones dying at home, people are going to start to stay home again and you'll have accomplished nothing. Positive thinking isn't going to fix the economy.

              Please love yourself.
