That's marvelous considering how serious things were for him. Good for him, and for your whole family.

Thanks Brenda. It was a few weeks ago that he had his surgery in Kansas City. It's two hours away and the closest facility that can do that sort of thing. I was there for that, but was pretty useless other than accompanying my mom, along with my brother, at the hotel. My mom went to the hospital every day. COVID rules kept the rest of us from his recovery bedside. He was cleared to come home, and he came home, but those times are probably pretty risky. Then my sister came down from WI to be of some real help. She's a health care professional and if you think I love my dad you should deal with her. His complications got scary and he went back to KC by ambulance, but is now back. Thanks for asking.

Horace, you’re from Wisconsin but your parents live in Kansas or Missouri, I think you’ve told the story before but tell us how that came about.

You can add the rest of the five letters. I totally accept that.

H sounds a lot cooler. You need all the help you can get, H.

          I was only joking

Ask my mom. They had a kid and then adopted one. They adopted the one because they thought they might never have the third. They really wanted kids. Then I was the third.

Right but we’re your parents originally from WI? Or did they just move there for a spell?

Excellent news. Dying I am not so afraid of. Dependence I am. Glad to hear your father is largely able to take care of himself.

My mom is from CO and my dad is from KS. My parents actually lived in San Francisco for a while, and Japan, while my dad was in the Air Force via the ROTC. But he's a veterinarian by training from Kansas State, and at some point was offered an opportunity to work at the University of WI, at its primate research center. He was the monkey surgeon. That all happened before I was born, so I'm from WI. My parents retired back to where my dad was born, when I was in my late 20s. It's a bit confusing between KS and MO because they are right on the border. They didn't really retire though for another 10 years. My dad worked at a local pet clinic, and my mom worked as a nursing professor at a local college.

My mom is COVID positive. Strange since the disease isn't prevalent there. We don't know how it happened. She had a cough when we talked on the phone today. My dad is doing better. My mom is only worried about my dad and whether she'll give it to him. Not a bit about herself. My dad hasn't been tested. Now they're social distancing in their home. My mom keeps to one room and my dad to another. He's independent so it's all ok for now.
