I'm very sorry for your loss, Rainman. I can't really add anything to that which has already been said, but my condolences.

Rainman, I am so sorry. So hard to find the words. I hope you have loved ones to comfort you, and I hope you can feel that we are keeping you close right now, and that you can lean on us if you need to.

Condolences on your loss, Rainman.
Maybe, when you're ready, you could share some of her stories. I would love to hear them.

I'm really sorry, Rainman. Some of us might not have met you in person yet, but sometimes it helps just to talk things out.

We've been by her side every day for the past several weeks. She died peacefully. Not sure why I'm bringing it up here, other than to say that a wonderful woman and mother is gone, she made a difference in this world in her own way. Very sad, but at least she is not suffering any longer. Wish you all could have known her, you would have relished in her stories of being in Germany during WWII. Her memoirs read like fiction in terms of what she went through, but for her it was the reality. As she would say so often, she can point to many times where it was pure luck that she made it through, met my dad near the end of the war as he was a wounded soldier, and how they ended up coming to America. And, how they built a successful life here while being staunch Estonians always. Minu kaunis ema on nuud lainud.

Oh, Rainman, I am so sorry for your loss. Yes, I would have liked to know her. She sounds wonderful, and she really did change the world in many ways. She raised a great son, and that's no small thing.
I look forward to getting to know her through your stories in the future. I hope your family shares many of her stories together, so everyone can perhaps hear something they hadn't known before about her. That would be a treasure.

Rainman has a brother?
Sorry - just hoping to make you crack a smile. Anyway I agree - share a story or two about her. Maybe we should have a ‘share a story about your mom’ thread.

Just wanted to thank you all for your kind words.
Funeral was on Saturday, really glad we had nice weather. The cemetery was very proactive with Covid protocols, they limited the number in the chapel to 20, although the capacity was 200. Minister spoke in both Estonian and English. All things considered, it was a very nice service for my mom. She directed the Esto choir for 49 years, amazing how many close friends she made over the years.
