@Larry said in Biden Does Not Support the Green New Deal:
What lie has he told? President Trump or Vice President Biden?
In either case, I think it is what the English say is a “softball” question
-
@Larry this is just from last night
Trump exaggerated instances of election “fraud,” misleadingly citing ballots “found in a creek” and a case where a thousand voters were mistakenly sent two ballots. Neither is evidence of “fraud.”
Trump falsely claimed that Biden supports the Medicare for All plan. He never did.
Trump misleadingly claimed people “weren’t allowed to watch” the polls in Philadelphia. Only satellite elections offices, where voters can return mail-in ballots, are open now.
Trump claimed he had been endorsed by the sheriff in Portland, which isn’t true, and he suggested that Biden had gotten no support from law enforcement officials, which is false.
Trump boasted than he “brought back 700,000 manufacturing jobs,” which was never true. Currently 237,000 have been lost.
Trump denied that climate change plays a role in California’s wildfires. Scientists say it’s a contributing factor.
Both candidates gave potentially misleading impressions of when Americans can expect a COVID-19 vaccine.
Trump said that he has “given big incentives for electric cars.” He’s actually tried to eliminate programs to encourage their manufacture and sale.
Trump said when Biden was working on the 1994 crime bill, he called African Americans “super-predators.” Actually, that was a phrase famously uttered by Hillary Clinton — not Biden — about some “gangs of kids.”
Trump said “I don’t think” Kellyanne Conway, his former White House counselor, said “riots and chaos and violence help his cause,” as Biden claimed. Conway did say something like that.
President Trump claimed that the administration’s more stringent fuel economy standards, cars would be $3,500 cheaper. Even going by the administration’s analysis, that’s inflated. If you need more info, Here is an article that allows you to filter 5000+ President Trumps mis speaks.

That would be a really nice list except for the fact that youre wrong on every single one of them.

- There HAS been ballots found thrown in a creek, and there HAS been thousands of people who were sent 2 ballots. If that's not fraud, what would YOU call it.
- Biden DID say he supports a Medicare for all plan.
- He was referring to the last election. Poll watchers WERE blocked.
- You're half right. Portends sheriff did not endorse Trump, but it's true that Biden has no support from law enforcement.
- Your information regarding manufacturing jobs is laughable.
- Scientists always say climate change is a "contributing factor" to everything. The fact is however that it is a proven fact that what is fueling the fires is decades of lack of forestry management thanks to whack job leftists. The forest floor is filled with dried undergrowth that acts as fuel.
- How do YOU know when a vaccine will be ready?
- Regarding electric cars, your claim is totally false.
- Yes, Hillary added the word "super". Biden just called them "predators". https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/07/politics/biden-1993-speech-predators/index.html
- Kelly Ann Conway did NOT say anything of the sort.
- The fuel economy thing .. Trump is correct. Actually his estimate is too low.
O out of all that shit you googled you ended up half correct on one minor point. The rest, totally incorrect.
-
@Larry said in Biden Does Not Support the Green New Deal:
Your information regarding manufacturing jobs is laughable.
Goofy to get into an internet argument, but will comment on one point.
(BTW, it is not MY information on manufacturing, it is the Bureau of Labor Statistics www.bls.gov)
November 2016: Manfacturing jobs = 12.34 million in US
January 2017: Manufacturing jobs = 12.37 million in US
August 2020: Manufacturing jobs = 12.13 million in USBLS historical manufacturing data
Please explain why the Bureau of Labor Statistics is laughable? Thanks.
-
@taiwan_girl said in Biden Does Not Support the Green New Deal:
BLS historical manufacturing data
January 2020: 12.84 Million Jobs
April 2020: 11.49 Million JobsWhat happened in those three months?
-
As in all your other points, you've googled and found the "evidence" that supports your opinion. But there's more to it than that. I've already destroyed you big list of supposed "lies", I'm not going to spend time correcting this one. I'll simply remind you that Obama admitted that manufacturing jobs were gone, said they'd never be back, and then asked if Trump was going to wave a magic wand to get them back. After that, companies began moving back in record numbers.
So the evidence proves you wrong.

@George-K Agree, but President Trump did not stop being president in February or March. Last time i check, he was elected for four years, not 3.2 years, not 1.7 years, but 4 years. I believe that he is still the President right now, which is what the data is based on.
I hate to sound like a repeater as I know we have discuss before, but you cannot only pick the cherries you like.
If a President is going to take credit when things are good, then he should (or must) take responsibility when things are not so good.
Economy good - because of me
economy bad - not my fault -

Economy good - because of me
economy bad - not my faultThird quarter looks like it is going to be up by 30%. That may be the steepest 90 day growth curve in the world.
In spite of a worldwide pandemic
How's that?

He should rightly take credit for that.
If it goes down 30%, he should take responsibility for it.
That is all I am saying. Own everything during your term.

Was Wilson responsible for the post WW1 economy problems due to the Spanish Flu?
-
@Jolly Is President Trump responsible for all those people OUTSIDE the US that have been buying so many Apple products so that Apple sales outside the US are more than 60% of total revenue, which has a impact on the increasing Apple stock price which makes the US stock market better?
You know me through this forum board well enough that my opinion is that "presidents get too much credit when things are good and too much blame when things are bad".
-
@Jolly said in Biden Does Not Support the Green New Deal:
You evaded the question.
No, President Wilson was not wholly responsible for the economics because of the Spanish flu in 1918. Just as President Trump is not wholly responsible for the economic crash during COVID. He has a pretty much minor responsibility for what happened. I don’t think of a Democrat were President, things would have been much different.
Now your turn to answer my question. LOL
(How much responsibility/credit does President Trump have for the rise of Apple stock and its effect on the US stock market, considering 60% of revenue comes from outside the US?) -

(How much responsibility/credit does President Trump have for the rise of Apple stock and its effect on the US stock market, considering 60% of revenue comes from outside the US?)Quite a bit. Trump was able to lower Apple's corporate tax rate to 22%, which puts more money in Apple's pocket, leading to an ability to either use that money for more factories, better or more marketing, R&D, etc. Those dollars which help the company can drive innovation, marketing, etc, allowing them to compete better globally.
Now, tell me what happens when Biden does as promised and raises that rate to 28%?
-
@Jolly said in Biden Does Not Support the Green New Deal:

Nothing. I believe it was the President Trump Treasury secretary who stated that the lowering of the tax rate was probably lower than what was needed. 28% would have been fine.
It all goes back to:
My party President is in power, good things happen because of him. Bad things happen in spite of him.
Opposite party President in power, good things happen in spite of him. Bad things happen because of him.
