Just to keep it separate from the RBG thread(s).
Looks like two candidates are rising. One is Barbara Lagoa.
Lagoa’s background as a Florida Cuban-American that could have the most salience for Trump. His reelection hinges on the too-close-to-call battleground state, where his campaign has made outreach to Hispanic voters a top issue, worrying some Democrats.
“If the president picks Barbara Lagoa, they will be dancing salsa with joy in Hialeah well past November,” said Gaetz, referring to Lagoa’s home town, a blue-collar majority Cuban-American city that borders Miami and leans Republican.
But the oddsmakers are saying Amy Coney (NOT Comey) Barrett. Catherine Herridge:
A source close to WH tells @CBSNews that “every signal, every indicator” favors Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Based on the buzz within the WH, the source said it would be “extraordinarily surprising” if she were not the choice. Part of political calculus, WH anticipates Democrats "will go overboard, and pile on" an ACB nomination, noting the 2017 line of questioning from Senator Feinstein and other Democrats about religion did not play well according to polling. This source said some within WH want President Trump to announce before Saturday.

In name, perhaps. He supports abortion. IIRC, one priest denied him Holy Communion because of that. Also, I don't think he was baptized into the church, only attends Catholic services.

Interesting. I did not realize that the catholic religion was that strict. Are most christian religions that strict as to who can be one of that religion?

Wait. That would be good, right? I mean, not for the right, but for the left. So, if they are not lesbians, then that would be good for the right in terms of support, but disappointing for some on the left.So, the solution would be bi-sexual. hmmm. Nope, that would not be right.
Transsexual? I don't know, because I don't really know what it means. And I'm not going to google it, because then I'll start receiving a bunch of ads for transexual stuff.Transgender? These days, there is no such thing as sexual misconduct. "Misconduct" is allowed, it's 2020 for gosh sakes.
Good, I fixed it all. Maybe then a little bit of time could be spent on their qualifications instead of what they might have been doing or thinking, or thinking about thinking, or thinking about doing, in their past.

Last night I watched an interview with her. It was OK, she seemed like a smart enough person. But, and just my opinion of course, she didn't seem to have the gravitas of someone being considered. Maybe it was her young sounding voice, or "average" vocabulary.
If I were on a committee, after listening to her field questions, I think I would have asked for more candidates for consideration.
