How beautiful would it be if this were satire?

It would restore my faith in youth.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Not the CUMB!

I also find the "unanimously and enthusiastically" part to be a little hard to believe.

The letter reads a bit cheeky.

You notice that only 20 people attended...

A marching band is not essential to getting a college education. Better put the students’ time and the school’s resources to better use.

Physics Labs are not essential to a college education. Better to put the student’s time and the school’s resources to better use.

Marching Band is a fairly important component of a Music Ed major’s curriculum.

Keep on keeping on: destroying. Tear down the establishment, rewrite history.
There will be massive pushback in time, or not.
And if not, well, that's it.
I really hate to be the generation that historians look back upon, and praise us for the New United States, where freedoms are looked at as outdated and somehow obsolete, and all subjects are void of the destructive white race all the way back to what's convenient the Enlightenment.

Marching Band? Of course that is useless and meaningless. ATTA bOY, AX! It's culture and tradition, and we can't have that. /sarc of course.

Not necessarily. One can easily not sound like an Internet douche just by not posting anything on the Internet. That requires no social skill whatsoever.

The band failed to keep up with the context of their times. A long history of hi-jinx, and definitely not afraid of consequences, apparently took a step too far and went out on its own terms.
