Nothing logically wrong with a whataboutism argument, as long as it is used to combat a point about one side being preferrable to another because of anecdote x. If the other supposedly inferior side has a counterexample anecdote y of the same or greater importance as x, then the original argument has successfully been defused by the whataboutism. It's true that whataboutisms are basically weak, but they are perfect to combat essentially weak anecdotal arguments about one tribe being superior to the other.

This is how humanity dies. Not with a bang, but with this really fucking annoying whining sound as we're all sucked into oblivion.

    I was only joking

In grade school it was considered an exercise in compare and contrast.

They also grow tedious very quickly and turn the debate into two dogs or dog packs barking while simultaneously chasing their own tails

I have actually grown fond of Bolton’s distinguished and avuncular Mr. Dithers’ countenance during TV interviews.

Apparently a 2 million dollar fine.

Do you think they checked his garage, or his wife's underwear drawer by the way?

Between his day rate for consulting and the rubber chicken lunch and dinner circuit, Bolton will recoup that loss in no time.

I doubt if this case will in future deter others from mishandling classified documents.

The irony of John Bolton is that he basically has been identified as one of the lefties that simply detest Trump for who he is and is incapability to manage the oval office. When in reality he was the biggest right wing war hawk to ever walk around 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Bolton a leftie? Hardly. Trump is neither left nor right. he's not even a centrist. He's a businessman populist, and whatever works or you'll buy for the situation works. He just jumped on the conservative bandwagon. MAGA is not conservative but populist.

Yeah pretty much spot on. I'd further define trump closer to an Authoritarian Populist (championing for the average joe in order to retain power) even a Demagogue (exploiting fears to get power). Anyway, Bolton always seemed like a really strong neocon that Trump needed in his first term but when Bolton wouldn't sing Trump's praises at the end, he got onto Trump's list of petulance revenge.

It's obvious from any objective distance that while Bolton has genuine issues with Trump's character, his vehemence is informed mostly by his ego and the manner in which Trump dismissed him. People like Bolton are simply not dismissed by the likes of Trump, as far as Bolton is concerned.
