It seems to have lost its original meaning, and it has become the traditional start of the summer season, with picnics, BBQ's and baseball.
So, in that spirit, let's fire up the grill!

Though in fairness, neither Bush, Biden, nor Clinton were ever said by their own Chief of Staff to have called fallen soldiers ‘suckers’. So maybe, of the presidents who avoided their duty in Vietnam, one in particular deserves special scorn.

In fairness, you might want to post a picture of the guy when he did serve.
The account of Trump saying those things about veterans is based solely on Kelly's word. As far as I'm aware, there are no other reports that confirm that. The animus between the men was ... intense.
That said, what Trump said about John McCain was reprehensible.
Now that said, I'm waiting for a Democrat, any Democrat condemn what their candidate for senate from Maine said. You know, for the sake of consistency.

I think it's time to bring a bit of gravitas to the messaging from the world's greatest living human. Unfortunately, all we've got is this.

Words are even more feeble on this Memorial Day, for the sight before us is that of a strong and good nation that stands in silence and remembers those who were loved and who, in return, loved their countrymen enough to die for them. Yet, we must try to honor them not for their sakes alone, but for our own. And if words cannot repay the debt we owe these men, surely with our actions we must strive to keep faith with them and with the vision that led them to battle and to final sacrifice."

Actually, Christie said that tribute should be paid to all of those, the living AND those who made the ultimate sacrifice....
I suppose you can read that as a conflation of living and dead, but I think his intention was not that.
