I've frequently thought about faking my own death. I've had a number of offers of help, which I suspect were all too real.

Didn't we have someone in the Old Coffee Room that actually did die from a bite he got while gardening? Are we talking about the same person, I vaguely recall my reference being a real thing. I'm sure if you say the name I'll say THATS HIM.

I can’t prove he was faking it but I’d bet real money on it. For a while I kept checking the SSA death records and he never showed up. Nor were there any stories in California about brown recluse deaths.
