Mrs. Phibes just showed me Merlin, developed by Cornell.
It identifies bird song from your phone and lists the birds surrounding you - as far as I can tell, it's very accurate - a lot more than me. Apparently what I thought was a hawk is actually a robin.

Umm so weird you started this thread today. While I have used it for a couple years, this morning I used it for the first time this year. My 3 year old loves doing it. In Minnesota in the morning this time of year you'll hear at the minimum: woodpecker, cardinal (my fave), grackle, finch, chickadee, robin, red-wing blackbird.
