As mentioned in the past, I’m in a middle class townhouse community in Loudoun county. It’s an older community, but offers better features than newer townhomes…

Our community is an interesting mix of middle class households, and like most in the area, we have 2 particular challenges: Parking and Overcrowded Housing in certain homes. We have 2 available spaces in front of each home and limited visitor street parking. With Lucas having his own car and being a 3-car household, we often have to compete for one of the street spots. Making the challenge worse are the homes with multiple families living in single family dwellings. There are more vehicles than available parking. Many of the multi-family households have taken to using the school parking lot, despite the no parking - no trespassing signs. They have done so for well over a year without any repercussions.

Last evening, there was a party at one of the neighbors. All of the available street parking was taken and it overflowed into the school parking lot. Myself and two Caucasian neighbors had no parking available, and joined the parking in the school lot for 2 hours. We went back to move the cars after the party wound down and street parking was available. We discovered that out of the 20+ cars in the lot, 3 had been towed.

    Want to guess which 3?

    The Brad

Oh, I can guess. One has to suspect they've made some sort of deal with the school.

Do you have any "A Caucasian Drives This Car" stickers?

Nope, but the lot is video monitored.

          That sucks.

(On a side note, I one time went down the hole on YouTube watching towing company videos. It is amazing how fast they can back up to a car, lift it up and be gone. All within about 30 seconds!.

          Example

No deal, but more of a general liberal attitude throughout the district of not wanting to make life harder for those poor people.

There’s also quite a bit of fiscal elements to this, as well. Undocumented migrants are the only thing keeping school enrollment in Loudoun from decreasing to the point of drastically reduced budgets. As a result, they are catering to the demographic. There’s a big fight locally where the Board of Supervisors is trying to defund the Loudoun Sheriff’s office because the Sheriff cooperates with ICE. They are also trying to cut SRO’s from the Sherrif in favor of a vastly more expensive but lower quality LCPS Security Team.

Two years ago, those cameras would have been monitored by the Sheriff’s office. Today they are monitored by the LCPS Security Office…

That sucks man. My best friend (who I stay with on my work trips) has the exact same setup. Townhouse community, 2 spots per house, crowded street parking. There's really no good solution. Although I think you are near Algonkian or the countryside trail? Those are really nice nature/path hikes I bet with Finley in all of your spare time. We have some nice trails here but absolutely nothing compared to what we had in Virginia where I'd take my kid on a walk nearly every day.
