Talarico I think will win that race. He sure seems like he has a future in a Presidential election, too. The white(r) Obama in terms of clarity while speaking. If the GOP isn't careful and they keep offending the latino base, should Texas ever flip (in the future), there goes any chance for the GOP to be in the oval office again.

I think Paxton wins this round but I guess that just means another election in May? Who will Hunt's people go to then, I presume Paxton?

Recently (according to Nate Silver) Crockett was polling better but Talarico was ahead in betting markets. Go figure.

Didn't Puff Diddy tell you to Vote or Die? He is someone who should be trusted.

There are no entertainment world celebrities running in the primaries, which is why I'm not voting.

It looks like Talarico wins. Heavy favorite among hispanics. GOP side is the runoff we knew it would be.

Crockett gets whiny, claims disenfranchisement, files lawsuit to keep polls open until 9pm instead of 7pm, tells supporters we may not know the results for another day....

Excellent. I dislike Crenshaw as much as I dislike any politician in America. That is partially random since he puts himself out there on the podcast and media circuits and I happened to get to know him. He postures like a straight-talking tough guy, he looks like that, and he has that resume. But it's a fabrication of a pure weasel who thought he could parlay an eye patch into a political career.

I don't know much about him but did recognize the name and remembered the eye patch. Probably without the patch I wouldn't have remembered him at all.

Curiously, this is what beat Crockett. She must have been even worse than I thought.

@Mik She’s arguably more moderate than he is, insofar as anyone cares about policy anymore. He’s far less shill and preaches a bipartisan fellowship of sorts. Far less partisan in demeanor. I agree with the conventional wisdom that he’s a better candidate for TX than her. But Cornyn will win all the same.

The Atlantic released an article yesterday morning about how Trump's aides said he's going to announce his support for Cornyn and ask (Paxton) to drop out. Until then the thought (and my Kalshi bet!) was that Paxton would win in a run-off since he'd suck up most of the 3rd candidate (Hunt)'s voters.

Paxton is like Trump... scandals, impeached I think, maybe a felony or two, election sore loser and fraud believer... if Paxton were to beat Cornyn in the runoff, there's a higher chance the democrat Talarico could win, so the GOP would have to spend even more to win the seat, vs a cheaper and better odds win if it's Cornyn. Trump doesn't like to align with losers... at least not on purpose.
