I’ve run into officials (not presidents) like that. Bob Rubin on a plane once for example (didn’t expect him to fly commercial). All I do is thank them for their service and leave them in peace.

I read there were secret service scattered through the plane.

I wonder if they subjected the flight to an extra screening. I’ve been through a secret service screening to attend an event with an ex-president and it seemed less thorough than TSA. Granted we were going to be in the audience, not sitting next to or behind him.
