Trump cancels DC golf lease

There are 3 municipal golf courses in DC that were in dire need of a makeover. Better course design, quality, facilities, and also accessibility to the public. A few years ago a non profit called National Links Trust signed a 50 year lease with a National Park Service to renovate and run them, and they were making incredible headway. Doubled revenues, massive redesigns in progress, the golf community was excited to see this.
Now Trump, most likely in an effort to rebrand them as Trump-related courses, terminated the lease so he can do…whatever. I feel for those involved at National Links Trust who’ve done so much lately only to have the rug pulled just because there’s a vain 3rd grader in office.
There is a small part of me that remains hopeful that Trump’s involvement will result in quality golf courses that are accessible, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.
