Sorry to hear that. Hopefully she will find reasonable coverage between COBRA and the Affordable Care Act. Good luck to her.

Thanks, Ax. I was surprised to learn that if your company folds there's no COBRA because the group plan does not continue. She'll have to go with an ACA plan.

Cobra tends to be pricey anyway. If she’s young and healthy she’s probably better off with ACA.

Yeah, it will probably be pretty short term and with only unemployment she'll get a break. Nevada has a pretty robust ACA marketplace.

I'm sorry to hear she lost her job.

Thanks, Horace. I can say it now. They signed a $2M contract with a 4% profit margin to build a very elaborate set for an opera. My daughter was the PM and told them up front she did not think they were capable of completing it in the timeframe, her counterpart at the opera said they same thing, and sure enough they weren't. The whole thing was one big clusterfuck from the gitgo. Now the entire production may be canceled. Let the lawsuits begin. I hope to hell they had E&O insurance.

That is frustrating. It reminds me of an IT project I was leading in 2018 they wanted to launch in 2019 and I told them not to rush testing and to push the actual deployment to Spring 2020. They said they "couldn't wait that long" so they switched contracts. It's now almost 2026 and they're still working on it.

The point being, folks like your daughter need to have their professional opinions listened to.

Yeah, I've lost one big contract for telling the client what they wanted could not be done properly. Fired me in the same meeting. They came back a few months later and wanted me to do what I had suggested. No thanks.

At least it’s only happened to you guys once. Dr Quincy would be doubted only later to be proved correct every single week.

                      You're showing your age.
