We have an Amazon warehouse just around the corner from where I work. When we go past it during our daily walk, there's frequently a strong smell of something that used to be illegal, but isn't any more. I'm actually a little surprised that anything gets delivered from there at all.

Had three successful deliveries today so far. Two of the three wrong deliveries yesterday were obviously honest mistakes, in that the recipient reached out to me.

The most expensive and most easily resellable item, the computer monitor, is the only one unaccounted for and marked delivered but which was 100% not delivered here. Hmm.

Oh, and the cheap shit that got correctly delivered today came with a photo of the item on the doorstep. But the monitor didn't.

Got refunded for the missing monitor and ordered a new one to arrive tomorrow. ChatGPT convinced me that if it had been malice on the part of the driver, they'd have never marked it "delivered". I guess the malice is on the part of whomever got my monitor and did not give it back. Hopefully the delivery tomorrow will go without a hitch.

My delivery went to a neighbor's 3 doors down's house.

A couple weeks ago a small package my wife ordered was delivered to house a block away. The young lady who received it dropped it off at our house a day later. By that time however we had already notified both the vendor and Amazon that the delivery had been made to the wrong address. Although we again contacted Amazon and the vendor that the problem had been rectified, my wife still received a refund on her card the end of last for the inconvenience of the mistake.

              Elbows up!

On the contrary side, I recently bought some jeans from Amazon. They delivered the wrong ones, so I returned them, but was charged anyway as "I returned the wrong item". Of course I returned the wrong items you morons, that's why I returned them. After a great deal of pissing around, I managed to actually speak to a very nice lady in India who assured me I wouldn't be charged for the returned goods. 3 weeks later I was charged anyway, and gave up trying to get my money back. Assholes.

I talked to an Indian chat agent as soon as I noticed that the monitor was not actually delivered. He immediately said he'd send a replacement and would verify by email. Great, I thought. No email came and no replacement appeared on my orders list. So that was a dud. 24 hours later, I'd already ordered my replacement, and contacted support again. A nice Indian lady this time gave me a refund, after I wised up and asked for a refund rather than a replacement. And sure enough, the refund, in the form of Amazon credit, appeared in my account soon thereafter. Now I just hope I get my monitor today.

I appreciate that the Indian people use their real names, rather than "Mike" or "Jenny" or something. I also appreciate that they're actual people. But that is sure to change soon.

You'll all be relieved to know that the monitor just arrived, and they even took a picture of the delivery. If only they'd taken a picture of the wrong delivery, I'd know which neighbor is pure evil.
