When he puts it that way…

I've voted against every gambling initiative that ever came up. They're all lies and the camel's nose under the tent. We have a close friend who is addicted to the slots, which are everywhere now. $15,000 wouldn't come close to what she's lost.
Gambling produces nothing, it just redistributes wealth and is deliberately designed to be addictive.

I've said this before, but a little game I've played is to park across the road from the entrance and try and predict which cars coming down the turnpike are going to turn into the casino.
It's depressingly easy to score very highly.

I voted against that in Ohio too. "It's for the SCHOOLS!". Riiiiight. That's why our schools are chronically underfunded.
I fully expect to see sex work legalized by referendum in my lifetime. It's about the only one of the traditional rackets that haven't been taken over by the government.

Yeah gambling is destructive. It’s mostly illegal here in Minnesota but I did find an app where you could place parlay bets on sports. I did it for golf and some baseball this past year and deleted the app after losing more times than I would win. Just not fun, but yes addictive!
