[Trump] said Somalia “stinks and we don’t want them in our country.” He described Representative Ilhan Omar, Democrat of Minnesota, who came to the United States from Somalia as a refugee and became a citizen 25 years ago, as “garbage.”
“We could go one way or the other, and we’re going to go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country,” Mr. Trump said. “She’s garbage. Her friends are garbage. ..."
Wonder what the sentiment on the ground is when it comes to the Somali immigrants in Minnesota.

The problem isn’t the undocumented Somalis, it’s the ones documented and registered to vote in Ilhan and whasserface in the Senate that is the problem. They move into one small congressional district and suddenly one extremely small outlier migrant group wields outsized political power in a divided nation.
And while a lot of these far right groups can be bigoted and irrationally xenophobic, their point about there being some cultures that can’t truly be folded into our American tapestry is not without some merit.
