Now it’s 3hr 20m delayed. I’ll be late to my first meeting.

I even thought about it this morning but I didn’t get enough sleep to drive 4 hours.

Trump administration just issued order to 40 major airports to cut flights by 10% starting Friday.

I am scheduled to fly tomorrow.

I fly back to NY tomorrow. The good news is Friday’s trip is DC, which I could drive to if necessary.

Widespread air travel disruptions should be a non-starter politically, the first non-starter we've encountered in the shutdown.

My flight back to LGA is only delayed 30m. I got through security in BOS in 2 minutes (Clear, PreCheck).

There were some news cameras here I guess waiting for chaos but so far it looks normal.

Surprisingly, my flight to DC is still showing on time.

The good news is it’s from Westchester, so not far from my house. And if they cancel it I can just drive.

I’m going to the annual conference of the AASLD (American Association for the Study of Liver Disease), colloquially known as ‘The Liver Meeting’. The good news is the important events don’t start until tomorrow so it doesn’t matter if I’m delayed by having to drive.

Mine was less than 15 minutes delayed, slightly longer queueing time waiting to get onto the runway, basically on-time as far as I am concerned.

Good to hear. I haven’t followed the news. Took my daughter to Mall of America today. Fun times!

Apparently there were about 1000 flights canceled today.

Wonder how they pick and choose? I know they said earlier flights are less likely to be canceled, but of course the later flights are subject to the ripple effects if the source aircraft doesn't arrive.

BTW one of these days our DCA travel might overlap. My next trip is likely week of January 6th (heh)
