Biden did a pretty good job of not veering into highly controversial / non-fact based criticisms of Trump.

The "fine sides" and BLM stuff was probably the touchiest - and as evidenced by this thread, sucks up oxygen for no good reason.

But on Russia he kept to "election interference" instead of collusion. I don't even think he mentioned impeachment.

On criticisms of covid response he kept to comparison against other countries, making PPE in the U.S. instead of China, and a federal mask mandate. Things that the federal govt. could actually do something about.

In short - the speech didn't seem like it was written by a "radical leftist".

Any Trump voter has good reason to take that particular dishonest accusation seriously and personally. It is a purely tribal response to shrug it off. Objectively, that particular false accusation contributes to the wide swath of reputation damage done to anybody who publicly supports Trump.

It was supposed to be that way...That is the narrative. Funny ol' Uncle Joe...Yeah, he's a little eccentric, the hair sniffing and what not, but he wouldn't hurt a flea. Reassuring. Calm. Inclusive.

Meanwhile, if you watched much of the rest of the convention, especially the daytine, streaming stuff, you got to see some of the most divisive, racist and Left-wing people in American politics.

And if you think Uncle Joe ain't gonna be beholden to many of these idiots in his own party, appointing them to government positions where they will influence policy, there ain't a cow in Texas.

            Three things come to mind...

            1. Biden has a history of plagiarizing speeches. He's lazy.

            2. In this instance it very well may be that his caretakers figured that all the rehearsing he did the first time he gave the speech would help him get through a reading of it this time easier than giving a newly written speech, minimizing the chances of him doing something that showed his senility.

            3. Most importantly, it shows that he promised all the same stuff a decade ago, didn't actually do a damned bit of it, and he won't do any of it this time either.

                Good point, Ax!
                GOOD POINT!!

You are the master of Good Points.
And you are just as consistent and deep as Biden. No kidding.

It's early yet, but I think Ax made the Point of the Day. POTD for Ax!

There have been a lot of POTDs before this one, but none that were the Point of the Day. All those that came before were the less illustrious Post of the Days. Now that Ax has established the magnificence of Points of the Day, will Post of the Day awards lose their luster? Time will tell! The only certainty is that Ax will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in a TNCR post.

Excellent point, as everyone pointed out.

Now, when they had 8 years in power to fix those things, how did it all work out?

                        WRONG!!
If they put Ax's brain in a bird, it would fly like an eagle, way way up in the clouds where the air is so thin it's hard to think straight.

EagleAx. AxEagle. Either way, the compliment's the same.

The Point of the Day trophies are hollow, like bird's bones, which makes them suitable for hanging around the necks of birds while still allowing them to fly. If you're imagining a big eagle with a huge hollow golden trophy dangling from its neck as it dives out of the sky to snatch a bunny from the Serengeti desert, that is exactly what I'm imagining too. Good job Ax killing that bunny with the huge golden POTD trophy dangling from your neck, mid-flight. Man, that is awesome.

Allow me to apprise you all of the state of neuroscience as we know it today.

Regardless of whether it’s Ax’s brain or any other brain, if anyone can take out a bird’s (or a dog’s) brain then put in a different brain, if said bird (or dog) can then fly (or walk) autonomously without external aid, backwards or otherwise, that would be considered a medical breakthrough, maybe even a miracle.

Of course, you may be forgiven for thinking that Ax’s brain can create miracles. After all, Ax’s brain has indeed created many things that many people say are miraculous. Just not this particular miracle.

                              You are welcome.
