Any other Apple owners notice that the Apple News aggregator leans decidedly left? It’s just an aggregator and pulls items from various news sources and you can control the sources a little by following certain sources, but the choices they give you are decidedly left leaning. HuffPost, Mother Jones, MSNBC, Politico, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone… The only rightward option I can see on there is Fox News. No Daily Wire, Breitbart, NY Post, Washington Times…

Maybe a result of self-selection on the supply side: the news publishers whom you consider "right leaning" have mostly chosen not to be on Apple News.

        It has the WSJ too.

But I suspect Ax is right. Whomever pays gets on.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

You are both wrong. Apple actually pays them to use the content.

Apparently they share Apple News + revenues (the subscription service).

On the free app they can sell their own ads in their stories and keep 100% of the revenue but don’t get paid.

If they let Apple sell the ads, Apple gives them a cut.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

Don't think I've ever opened the Apple News thing once, so I'm not sure.

I do enjoy this iPhone 17 pro btw. Great battery, feels nearly the same as my iPhone 12 (I was expecting it to feel bigger/heavier), and the iOS 26 updates are really quite nice overall. The camera zoom is absolutely incredible and I just discovered today the ability to "clean up" a photo by selecting a person in it and making them disappear, back-to-the-future style. Like if you have a random stranger you'd rather not have standing there.
