It hit Taiwan pretty bad, but mainly in the northeast part of the country in pretty rural and somewhat isolated places. It was unfortunate for the dead people (17 I think), as most of them were quite old and could not evacuate to higher areas of their houses or other places.
My hometown, no problems other than a lot of rain. In fact, I did not even get any worried notifications from friends and family. 555
I understand that Hong Kong got hit pretty badly.
