Trump speaking at the UN

Let's take a look at that:
- "Worst inflation our country has ever seen?" Try the 40s, late 70s, early 80s....
- Cost of energy down? Started $0.179, now up to $0.190 (cost per kw hour)
- Gas prices down? Started $3.22, now up to $3.29
- Grocery prices down? Started 135.6 now 137.5
- Mortgage rates down? Started 6.9% now 6.3% (yes, this one he didn't lie about!
)
- Inflation has been defeated? WTF does that even mean? We have a depression now?

That’s just because of the tariffs on Canadian energy exports , and those don’t count!
- Gas prices down? Started $3.22, now up to $3.29
You’re calculating that wrong. Technically, you calculated the first point wrong, but the point was still accurate. Gas and energy prices are expected to fluctuate seasonally. It’s expected for gas to be more expensive in July than January… But gas is 30¢cheaper per gallon than it was in the same months of 2024.
- Grocery prices down? Started 135.6 now 137.5
Again, correct point, wrong calculation.

I mean if you compare it to Sept 2024 it's even worse. Grocery prices were 133.8. I suppose gas prices were $3.31 in Sept 2024, now $3.29, wow!

Amazing that you know information that the BLS doesn’t know from the future, since, you know, the month hasn’t actually ended yet and the data and averages aren’t compiled for several weeks at the earliest, and normally a month down the line. So the September price isn’t even known yet. I can tell you that the National Average in August was $3.13, about 7.5% down from August in 2024.
I absolutely encourage you guys to bitch and rail against Trump, especially for false, misleading, or exaggerated claims and data. But don’t do so with your own “fake news”. You come across as immature and petulant as he does.

He's by far the most amazing American in the history of the US.
I literally wake up every day expecting to be amazed. And I am!

@LuFins-Dad See chart. Compares Sept 16th of last year to Sept 15th of this year.

That's a 10,000% decrease!

Dude. It’s a monthly average. Why are you cherry picking the 16th of last year vs the 15th of this year? Your own link shows that it’s a bigger difference today. It’s $3.29 right now and was $3.35 one year ago.
-
Ha holy shit I literally just searched for gas price chart and found the latest data possible comparing one year ago to the most recent data (Sept 15). I didn't cherry pick or use fake news. The good news it the next release of data is today at 430pm!
Anyway, since he's been in office the price of gas has gone up by about 10 cents. Let's see if he can get it back down by the end of January so he can claim victory.

Never mind the fucking gas prices, London is going to Sharia Law!
I know southern beer is a bit shit, but this seems like an over-reaction.
-
Actually, Renauda would be the person to weigh on this. I follow oil pricing with an industry analyst on another site. Most US producers are laying off people. The reason gas prices are down is that the Saudis have increased supply quite dramatically AND refineries are shifting to their winter blend of gasoline which is cheaper. The long-term impact of that is that many companies in the US will shut down or go bankrupt. It ain't "drill baby drill" that is affecting prices.
-
That was kind of a cringy speech I thought.

Never mind geostrategic considerations, human rights, or whatever - Trump will base his decision whether to go to war with a country on whether their leader was "nice" to him. Amazing if you think about it.
