Who’s the greatest living mathematician?

Controversial question of course but one way to answer it would be to ask a bunch of mathematicians for a shortlist and see who’s name appears on pretty much all of them.
That might yield a few names. The youngest among them (ergo with better potential to contribute more) would be Terrence Tao. We’ve spoken about him before.

It is axiomatic that Donald Trump is the greatest living mathematician and anybody who suggests otherwise is a loser. So sad.
Far from being controversial, the proof of this statement is trivial, and is left as an exercise for the reader.

He used the word "has" twice in the first sentence but he has, among other things, has a good point.

He got a 791 on the SAT math when he was 7 years old (before they made the test easier). But he has never revealed his verbal score.
At any rate, stopping the work of arguably the world’s greatest mathematician should nip antisemitism in the bud. I can already hear Mamdani apologizing for the whole river-to-the-sea thing.
