It’s pretty easy to fall down the zealot hole. It might be financial remuneration but it also may be one of those things where she sees #1 was wrong, #2 was wrong, therefore #3 - #10 must be wrong by default… And if they are wrong, then the people that opposed 1-10 were right. And if they were right, they are right about everything.

It’s the way of the zealot. Most likely it’s a little of both.
