@Mik Oh, Mik, we have finally gotten tough on the marauders, the deer that love to eat everything in our yard. We fenced in the backyard, and also most of the front yard on one side. They have to be civilised deer now and walk all the way to our front yard if they want to enter. And I am sure they eventually will. Doggone deer ...

I mentioned in the other thread.... bunnies are our nemesis. Cute as hell, but love to chew early growth on hostas, black eyed susans, and lilies. We have a trap and I've caught quite a few. Rabbit stew tonight!

I agree! We have bunbuns that hang out on our property. Guess what?? Hubby thinks they're so CUUUUUUUTE, and he can't bear to do anything to keep them out. He says they don't eat much.

Sigh.

We have a heap of rabbits and toads. Mrs. Phibes has taken to naming the bunnies, so I don't think humane disposal is on the cards. Chipmunks are equally as cute and annoying as bunnies, however our dog caught one a few weeks back, and they've been noticeably more restrained since then.

We have at least two kinds of these critters in Minnesota. I don't think I have ever seen one here.

We had either a fisher or weasel walk up the drive a couple of weeks ago. Naturally, the dogs went completely bonkers. We see a lot more variety in Rhode Island than we did in Foxboro, as we're right on the edge of a fair amount of countryside.

Really? My experience tells me that Foxboro was absolutely overflowing with weasels a few years back.

And these two strolled past the house - a long way from any forested areas.

We see them strolling down the walking trails almost every day.

During our Minnesota winters when the snow is deep, I can look out the windows and see deer enjoying the use of the cleared sidewalks. They get tired of walking through the deep snow.

They're so darn spoiled. They'll walk down the plowed sidewalks to a plowed driveway, then cross the street from there to the next plowed sidewalk. They finally go into a yard when they spot a favorite plant to eat.

I love my new fences.
