    Was fishing in the pond out back of our neighborhood with Finley and saw a huge honking snapping turtle. I mean at least 24” carapace. They just don’t get that big around here…

          That is huge. Not sure if it was here, but somebody posted about the speed that a sapping turtle can snap its jaws closed. Amazing fast!!

            Yeah that's a big boy. Probably 30+ years old, too. The creek I used to take my daughter to daily in 2020 (when she was turning 2) had a swampy area that this fella lived in. We'd see him each day, always looked like a small muddy dinosaur to me.
